A new academic title, PR 2.0: The New Age of Public Relations, has been released with a dual focus on practical industry relevance and social impact. The book is authored by communications leader Samir Kapur, and is positioned as a hands-on guide for students and early-career professionals navigating the rapidly changing media landscape.
The book addresses the “Great Unbundling” of media, offering a practical roadmap that connects academic learning with the daily demands of the public relations industry. Designed to complement classroom instruction, the text emphasizes real-world application over traditional theory.
Other than its professional focus, the project carries a philanthropic mission. Like Kapur’s previous book, 100 percent of the author’s proceeds from PR 2.0 will be donated to fund scholarships for students from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Support from the earlier publication helped fund the education of 10 students.
The book is currently available for purchase through the publisher, Ink Publication, and will be listed on Amazon and Flipkart in a few days. Early buyers can access the book via the publisher’s website.
Explaining the motivation behind the project, Kapur said, “A group of students challenged me to write something useful for their careers. They felt current textbooks were relics that ignored the daily rigor of modern PR. I wrote this book to bridge the gap between classroom theory and boardroom reality. It converts my 30 years of experience into a manual that also funds scholarships for deserving EWS students.
The book navigates the “Great Unbundling” of modern media. It replaces academic theory with the “Code Red” protocols and PESO frameworks I use to train CXOs. It has practical tools for building reputational resilience. Also, 100% of my royalties fund EWS scholarships. Intend is that professional development directly creates educational opportunities for deserving students who lack financial access.”
According to him, each purchase directly contributes to a student’s education, aligning professional development with meaningful social impact.
