Ananya Birla has formally announced on LinkedIn that she has taken over as Founder and Chairperson of Birla Studios, a film studio focused on developing high-concept, commercial cinema.
She wrote, “Im very late to update my LinkedIn - I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Founder and chairperson at Birla Studios! For the love of cinema!”
Birla Studios was launched in February 2026 and is building a multi-language slate spanning Hindi, Gujarati and Malayalam, among other regional languages, as well as international English-language cinema.
Birla is also the Founder and Chairperson of Svatantra Microfin. In 2025, she launched Contraband and LOVETC under the Birla Cosmetics banner. She also plays a strategic role at the Aditya Birla Group and serves on the boards of Hindalco, Grasim and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail.
