Ambesh Tiwari has been entrusted with an expanded leadership role at Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) as part of the company’s latest organisational rejig. The network announced on Friday that Tiwari will now lead Sony AATH, in addition to continuing his responsibilities for the Kids and Animation business, signalling a consolidation of leadership across key content verticals.

Tiwari had taken charge as Business Head of SPNI’s Kids and Animation portfolio in January last year. He assumed the role following the exit of Leena Lele Dutta, who stepped down as Executive Vice President and Business Head of Sony Pictures Networks India in October 2024. Around the same period, Tiwari had also joined Sony YAY! as Business Operations Head, marking his formal entry into the network’s children-focused content ecosystem.

Before joining SPNI, he served as Executive Vice President at The Viral Fever (TVF), where he was closely involved in scaling digital-first content and business operations. His career also includes nearly four years at ZEE Entertainment Enterprises, where he held senior roles across business and content functions.

Earlier in his career, Tiwari was associated with leading media and entertainment networks such as Viacom18 and Star India, giving him wide exposure to general entertainment, regional television and youth-focused content.

His diverse background across traditional broadcasting and new-age digital platforms is expected to play a key role as SPNI sharpens its focus on regional growth and strengthens its kids and family entertainment portfolio.
