As part of the new leadership structure at SPNI, Makarand Palekar has been elevated as Head – Linear Distribution at Sony Pictures Networks India.
Prior to joining SPNI in 2010, Makarand Palekar had worked with TheOneAlliance, the distribution joint venture between Multi Screen Media (MSM) and Discovery Communications, as Senior Vice President – Sales and Affiliate Relations.
Palekar was associated with ESPN-STAR Sports, where he served as Sales Head. He was part of the network’s start-up team and played a key role in building its sales operations.
By the time he moved to TheOneAlliance, he brought with him around 13 years of experience in television sales and distribution, making him a seasoned professional in affiliate management and revenue growth.
