JioStar clocks 22% revenue growth in Q4

JioStar reported a strong financial performance for the fourth quarter of FY26, with gross revenue rising to ₹9,784 crore, marking a 22.15% increase compared to ₹8,010 crore in the previous quarter (3Q FY26).

Revenue from operations also grew 21.39% quarter-on-quarter to ₹8,372 crore from ₹6,896 crore.

However, profitability saw a sequential moderation. EBITDA (including other income) stood at ₹827 crore in Q4 FY26, down 36.53% from ₹1,303 crore in Q3.

The FY25 figures represent a shorter reporting period from November 14, 2024 (when Reliance and Disney merged) to March 31, 2025.

EBITDA margin declined to 9.9% from 18.9%, a drop of 47.62% in Q4 compared to Q3.

Profit after tax (PAT) came in at ₹419 crore, down 52.82% from ₹888 crore in the preceding quarter.

On the cost side, depreciation remained largely stable at ₹341 crore versus ₹343 crore in Q3 (down 0.58%), while finance costs rose marginally by 4.84% to ₹65 crore from ₹62 crore. Tax expenses fell sharply to ₹2 crore from ₹10 crore, a decline of 80%.

JioStar delivered robust growth in FY26. Revenue from operations rose 226.93% to ₹31,048 crore from ₹9,497 crore.

EBITDA for the year stood at ₹4,885 crore, up 531.14% from ₹774 crore in FY25, while EBITDA margin expanded to 15.7% from 8.1%, an increase of 93.83%. Profit after tax saw a sharp rise of 1302.62% to ₹3,210 crore, compared to ₹229 crore in the previous year.

Depreciation increased 300.91% to ₹1,323 crore from ₹330 crore, while finance costs rose 66.17% to ₹334 crore from ₹201 crore. Tax expenses also grew 28.57% to ₹18 crore from ₹14 crore.

Operationally, the quarter was driven by strong performance across sports and entertainment.

According to the company, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and TATA IPL 2026 delivered record-breaking viewership across TV and digital platforms, with the World Cup final recording a global peak concurrency of 72.5 million on JioHotstar.

“JioStar maintained its leadership in television entertainment with a 34.2% viewership share, reaching over 810 million viewers nationwide,” it said.

On the digital front, JioHotstar averaged 500 million monthly active users during the quarter, supported by continued growth in subscriptions and new product innovations, including AI-led content discovery and in-app integrations.
