A debate sparked on social media after senior journalist Saurabh Dwivedi made a remark about Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav has taken a new turn, with actor Salman Khan stepping in to support Yadav.
Salman Khan shared a message on his official X handle, praising Yadav’s nearly 30-year-long career and assuring that his work will continue regardless of fluctuations in the dollar rate.
The controversy began during a recent event in Mumbai, when Dwivedi asked Yadav a question that included a comment about whether the dollar was “up or down.” The clip quickly went viral, with several users criticising the remark as inappropriate.

सौरभ द्विवेदी के सिर पर घमंड सवार हो गया है। ये आदमी दो चार बॉलीवुड के लोगों में क्या बैठने लगा है, यह अपनी औकात भूल गया है।

The situation was further amplified because Rajpal Yadav has recently been in the news over legal troubles linked to a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case, during which he briefly surrendered to Tihar Jail.
Following the viral clip, social media users reacted strongly against Dwivedi’s comment. Salman Khan’s intervention came as a show of solidarity, emphasising the importance of support during difficult times.
