Hindi news channel News India has recently been in the spotlight due to an internal dispute between senior journalist Rana Yashwant, who recently took charge as CEO and Editor-in-Chief, and the channel’s chairman Shailendra Sharma. Responding to the controversy, Yashwant took to social media to express his thoughts. In his post, he wrote, “Sometimes you make the wrong decision in life. The only reason it happens is that you trust repeated requests and the assurances given. Joining News India was a terrible mistake on my part, and I acknowledge it.”

Yashwant emphasised his lifelong respect for discipline and talent, stating that those he hired met these standards. He criticised the arbitrary dismissal of colleagues’ contributions and experience, calling it unacceptable under his leadership.
