In a major move reshaping the global marketing landscape, Omnicom has completed its acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG), and confirmed John Wren will continue as Chairman and CEO.
John Wren has been leading Omnicom Group since 1997, taking on the additional role of Chairman in 2018. Over the years, he has steered the company from its early days into a global marketing powerhouse. Wren has played a key role in shaping Omnicom’s growth and its reputation as a company that connects brands with people in meaningful ways around the world.
Following the acquisition’s completion on November 26, 2025, Omnicom announced its executive leadership and strategic direction. In a statement, Wren said, “The expertise and dedication of our leadership team and the promise of our Connected Capabilities make us uniquely positioned to turn this moment into a catalyst for intelligent growth — for our people, our clients and our shareholders. I am proud to welcome the people, agencies and clients of Interpublic to Omnicom and create a global community of the best and brightest professionals in the industry, all of whom will have access to the most advanced AI tools and Omni, our advanced intelligence platform. Together, we will be the go-to company that shapes how brands grow, people connect and culture evolves.”
The leadership structure aims to integrate talent and technology across the network, with a focus on AI-driven solutions and privacy-first data strategies. The newly combined Omnicom also boasts the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio of capabilities, powered by Omni, and aims to unify media, creative, commerce, and precision marketing under a single connected ecosystem leveraging generative AI and advanced analytics.
The merger, cleared by all regulators, brings together Omnicom’s global creative, media, and data capabilities with IPG’s client portfolio, forming a combined entity with pro forma revenue exceeding $25 billion.
The combined entity is expected to strengthen its presence across key global markets, including India, where advertising spend is rapidly growing and digital adoption continues to accelerate. With Wren at the helm, Omnicom aims to position itself as a forward-looking, intelligence-driven network, setting new benchmarks for how brands engage with audiences and drive business growth in an increasingly complex marketing landscape.
