Times Internet posts 9.4% jump in total revenue in FY19
The digital arm of Times Group has seen a rise in subscription income by 361.4%
The digital arm of Times Group - Times Internet - has posted an increase of 9.4 per cent in its total revenue for the year ended March 31, 2019. The company has recorded a total revenue of Rs 1526.51 crore as compared to Rs 1394.42 crore in FY2018.
During FY19 the network’s loss after tax has increased by 45.68 per cent to Rs 102.36 crore
as compared to the previous financial year. The company had posted a loss of Rs 70.26 crore for the year ended March 31, 2018, as per the financial statement from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
However, Times Internet’s revenue from operations has jumped 44.37 per cent to Rs 1357.45 crore from Rs 940.24 crore in FY18.
According to the report, the company revenue from sales has seen an increase of 53.40 per cent to Rs 1316.97 crore from Rs 858.49 crore recorded in the previous financial year. The unit saw 44.42 per cent rise in online advertising income to Rs 443.60 crore from Rs 307.14 crore in FY 2018.
While the print media business recorded Rs 330.45 crore in the same financial year, the revenue from the web portal and support services stands at Rs 102.04 crore. The subscription income has jumped by 361.4 per cent to Rs 40.65 crore from Rs 8.81 crore.
The revenue from SMS services stood at Rs 93.04 crore whereas revenue from events - sponsorship and participation fees - was recorded as Rs 37.63 crore.
