Google Search has long been known for incorporating fun, hidden features in the form of Easter eggs, usually tied to current or popular events. The latest Easter egg is themed around Stranger Things.

If you search for Stranger Things on Google, a 20-sided dice, or "D20," appears on the results page. Clicking the icon triggers a temporary visual effect, turning the search results upside down and dimming the background, simulating the alternate world known as the Upside Down, as depicted in the series.

Google further extended this engagement with a YouTube video showcasing global search trends for Stranger Things. Rather than highlighting specific episodes, the video compiles what people worldwide have been searching for about the show, offering insights from the perspective of search behaviour.

In India, activities around the finale of the popular web series Stranger Things extended beyond Easter eggs on social media, encompassing various public engagements in cities such as Delhi and Mumbai.

Some metro stations were transformed as part of out-of-home activations tied to the web series’ final season.

Demogorgon-inspired benches: Seating installations featuring visual motifs from the show were placed along pedestrian routes, with locally resonant text designed to encourage engagement.

Augmented reality billboards: On major roads such as the Delhi–Noida Expressway, AR billboards displayed running, climbing, and flying creatures and symbols from the series.

A tie-up with Swiggy Instamart introduced InstaStrange, a gesture-controlled shopping interface inspired by the show’s telekinesis theme, allowing users to browse and purchase related merchandise.

These activities highlight how the show’s visual identity and elements were embedded in both the physical and digital landscape in India, through outdoor installations as well as Google’s search Easter egg.
