Google has failed to persuade a federal judge in California to dismiss a consumer lawsuit accusing Alphabet of illegally using business agreements with major tech companies to shut out rivals in the online search market, global news agencies have reported.
U.S. District Judge Rita F. Lin has declined to dismiss the core federal claims in a proposed class action brought by consumers.
The lawsuit, filed last year, talks of agreements that the tech giant made with mobile device manufacturers and others.
Google has denied any wrongdoings and has asked Lin to dismiss the lawsuit.
