Mindshare India likely to retain media mandate for Disney-Star India

Industry sources claim the Rs 350-400 crore account will continue to be managed by Mindshare India. All leading agencies including Publicis and OMD participated in the pitch

The country's leading media house Disney-Star merged entity is believed to have retained GroupM’s Mindshare India as its agency of record. The decision is crucial in the backdrop that the pitch was part of a global pitch and in most other markets the account is said to have moved to Publicis and OMD.

The account size in India is estimated to be around Rs 350-400 crore. However, globally it is said to be around $2.2 billion.

exchange4media reached out to Star India and Mindshare India for official comments but did not receive any response until the filing of this story.

Early last month, media reports in international market quoted Publicis Chairman and CEO Arthur Sadoun from an internal memo as saying that Publicis Media has been awarded the entire global buying and planning business for Disney theme parks and Disney+. Publicis has also bagged the company's media business in EMEA, APAC and Latin America regions, news reports further said. However, neither the media house nor the agencies have yet made any official statement.
