Meta has reportedly appointed Vishal Shah to head product management for AI Division. The announcement regarding this has been made by CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Shah was in charge of product management for Instagram at Meta for over six years, before becoming vice president of Metaverse — the company’s concept for a three-dimensional virtual world — in 2021.
Media reports suggested that the move signals Meta's intensifying focus on AI development, as the company competes with tech giants like Microsoft and AI-specialized firms such as OpenAI and Anthropic in building sophisticated AI models.
Shah will report to Meta's head of AI product, Nat Friedman, according to media reports.
