Raghava Vaidyula has been appointed Executive Vice-President to manage JioStar's Telugu operations across all platforms. His new responsibility is part of the leadership reorganisation that followed the formation of a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited, Viacom18 Media, and The Walt Disney Company.

For more than 15 years, Vaidyula has been involved with MAA, a division of Star India Private Limited, in a variety of capacities. He most recently served for more than three years, starting in September 2021, as the Business Head. In June 2009, he started working for the company as the Head of OAP (On-Air Personality).

He assumed the role of Head of Fiction in June 2016 and was elevated to Senior Vice President of Programming in December 2021, a position he held for more than two years.

Before this, from September 2007 to June 2009, he served as Asianet Communications' Chief Editor & Producer for almost two years.

He began his professional career at Gemini TV, where he worked for over 11.5 years. He began working for the company as a freelancer in 1994 and finished his time there in 2006 as a game show and talent show producer.

The joint venture, in which Reliance owns a 56% majority ownership, combines the media assets of JioCinema, Star India, and Viacom18 to create a media behemoth with a valuation of about Rs 70,352 crore (US$8.5 billion).

Supported by a Rs 11,500 crore (US$1.4 billion) investment by Reliance, the new company would run 100 TV channels, generate more than 30,000 hours of programming a year, and connect with more than 50 million digital subscribers.
