Bihar election counting on November 14 reshaped morning TV news consumption decisively, with Aaj Tak emerging as the clear leader in the crucial 8 am to 12 pm band, when early trends, constituency swings and vote-share shifts dominated national attention.
Recent data from Week 45’25 shows Aaj Tak recording the highest AMA (Average minute audience in ‘000) at 1,847, far ahead of all other Hindi news competitors in 8 AM to 12 PM on Fri, 14th Nov 2025. Its Reach stood at 12.6 Mn in the same slot, confirming the channel’s ability to command both depth and width of audience during high-stakes political coverage.
News18 India followed at a distant second place with 1,005 AMA 000s and a 10.5 Mn reach, reflecting strong but significantly lower traction compared to the market leader. India TV and Zee News were further behind with 860 and 825 AMA 000s respectively during the same time band, pointing to a tighter contest in the mid-tier of Hindi news.
ABP News garnered 878 AMA 000s and a reach of 9.7 Mn, holding steady but unable to close the gap with the top two broadcasters. Republic Bharat does not appear within the top positions of this time band.
While non-news Hindi GECs and movie channels appeared in the all-India list due to their broader audience universe, among pure news channels Aaj Tak, News18 India, ABP News, Zee News and India TV drove the bulk of election-focused viewership during counting.
These numbers align with the broader Bihar election week trend. Aaj Tak’s spike began from November 10 and peaked on November 14 with an 18.8 percent share among Hindi News genre in full-day data, the single biggest surge of the election cycle. The morning time slot market share of Aaj Tak stood at 23.1% and confirms it maintained overwhelming dominance when results began taking shape.
News18 India showed consistent strength through the cycle, peaking at 13.8 percent on November 13 and 11.5% on November 14. India TV also made one of its strongest appearances of the week on counting day with a 10.9 percent full-day share, reflecting heightened interest in its results-oriented programming.
Across November 12–14, Bihar election coverage proved to be the most significant viewership driver of Week 45’25, causing pronounced spikes across major Hindi news networks. However, the counting morning reinforced one pattern more clearly than anything else: Aaj Tak extended its lead decisively when the electoral narrative was at its peak, dominating both AMA and reach during the hours that mattered most.
