Film director Kuku Kohli passes away

Filmmaker Kuku Kohli, best known for launching actor Ajay Devgn with Phool Aur Kaante, died on August 25 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai following a heart attack, according to reports.
Kohli made his directorial debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 and went on to work in Hindi cinema for more than three decades. The film, starring Devgn in his debut role, went on to achieve diamond jubilee status.
Over the years, Kohli directed several films, including Kohraam, Zulmi, Anari No. 1 and more. His last directorial venture was Woh Tera Naam Tha, starring Arjan Bajwa and Kanchi Kaul.
Kohli married actor Aruna Irani in 1990. He is survived by Irani and his two daughters, Pooja and Karishma, from his first marriage to Rita Kohli.
