The short video, shared on social media by Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, featured women diplomats and staff members making confident walk-ins inspired by the style popularised by the Dhurandhar trend. Set to the now-recognisable soundtrack, the clip introduced members of the High Commission while highlighting their roles within the diplomatic mission.

What stood out most, however, was the effort behind the tribute. Rather than simply joining a trending format, the video placed the spotlight firmly on the women featured in it, highlighting their work, contributions and presence within the High Commission. In that sense, the Dhurandhar soundtrack wasn’t just there because it was popular; it served as a nod to the women being celebrated, positioning them as the real “dhurandhars” of the mission.

Alongside the video, Philip Green acknowledged the team’s contributions, writing:

Proud to work alongside the impressive women of the Australian High Commission who are working to advance the Australia-India partnership.”

The video’s style stood out from the usual formal tone of diplomatic messaging. With confident walk-ins, quick edits and the energetic Bollywood soundtrack, the tribute felt closer to a film montage with many praising the creative tribute.

One user wrote, “The Aussie High Commission going full #Dhurandhar for #WomensDay is the content we love to see!” Another commented, “Using the Ultra masculine movie's BGM to create this video showcasing the women is brilliant.”

A third reaction summed up the tone of many responses, “This might be the coolest Women’s Day tribute from a diplomatic mission.”

The light-hearted tribute demonstrated how even diplomatic spaces can occasionally borrow a page from Bollywood to celebrate important moments.
