GCPL names Aasif Malbari as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
The appointment follows Sudhir Sitapati’s resignation as MD & CEO

- Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has appointed Aasif Malbari as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 12 August 2026, following the resignation of Sudhir Sitapati.
- Malbari, previously the Global Chief Financial Officer, will serve as an Additional Director (Executive, Non-Independent) for a five-year term and has stepped down from his CFO position as of 11 August 2026.
- He will also participate in GCPL's Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment, Social & Governance, and Management committees, while remaining a member of the Risk Management Committee.
- With three decades of experience in the FMCG and auto industries, Malbari has held key positions at GCPL, Tata Motors, and Hindustan Unilever, and aims to drive growth and innovation at GCPL.
Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has named Aasif Malbari as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 12 August 2026. The appointment follows Sudhir Sitapati's resignation as MD and CEO.
Malbari, who has been serving as GCPL’s Global Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed as an Additional Director (Executive, Non-Independent) for a five-year term from 12 August 2026 to 11 August 2031, liable to retire by rotation.
Following his elevation, he has stepped down as CFO with effect from the close of business on 11 August, according to the regulatory filing.
Malbari will also serve on GCPL's Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment, Social & Governance and Management committees. He will continue as a member of the Risk Management Committee in his capacity as a director.
Malbari has spent three decades in the FMCG and auto industries, at GCPL, Tata Motors, and Hindustan Unilever. Prior to joining GCPL, Aasif served as Chief Financial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. Earlier in his career, he worked at Hindustan Unilever across a range of finance and business roles.
