Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Limited (ARCIL) has named Phanindranath Kakarla as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), effective 9 March 2026. He succeeds Pallav Mohapatra, who is stepping down after completing his term.

Kakarla brings experience in the acquisition and resolution of stressed assets. He joined ARCIL on 2 April 2025 as President and worked alongside Mohapatra to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Since taking office in March 2021, Mohapatra has led ARCIL strategically. With over four decades in India’s banking and financial services sector, he strengthened operational capabilities, reinforced governance, and advanced the company’s growth initiatives in the asset reconstruction space.

Earlier, he held senior leadership role in the Edelweiss Group.

Phanindranath Kakarla, CEO & Managing Director, ARCIL, said “I am honoured to take on the responsibility of leading ARCIL at an important stage in its journey. ARCIL has played a pioneering role in shaping India’s asset reconstruction industry and remains a strategic partner for banks and financial institutions. My focus will be to build on ARCIL’s leadership position and deliver long term value for all stakeholders”

Narayanan Subramaniam, Chairman, ARCIL, shared, “We are delighted to welcome Mr. Phanindranath Kakarla as CEO & Managing Director. With his leadership experience and deep understanding of financial services and asset resolution, we are confident he will lead ARCIL into its next phase of growth and value creation. This is part of the succession plan as envisaged by the Board over the last year. We sincerely thank Mr. Mohapatra for his leadership and contributions during a transformative phase for ARCIL.”
