Global YouTube creator KSI has spotlighted the stark cost advantage of producing large-scale digital content in India, revealing that a single day of high-end production in the country can cost nearly one-tenth of what similar setups demand in the UK.

Speaking on a recent podcast, KSI said daily production expenses in the UK are often assumed to touch half a million. “Production each day, how much it would cost, people think it’d be half a million, and it would be in the UK. In India, bro, it was 60k,” he said, underlining the contrast.

He explained that the reduced cost did not mean compromised quality. “We’re able to have all these cameras, all these setups… full-on production. What do you think that truck is? It’s not for food. No. That’s monitors,” KSI added, referring to the mobile production unit used during the shoot. According to him, replicating the same scale in India comes at nearly ten times less the price. “To have that in India, 10 times less price. Yeah bro, it’s insane,” he said.

The comments coincide with KSI’s broader strategy to scale his content operations ahead of 2026. With a combined following of over 100 million across platforms, the creator has expanded far beyond YouTube into boxing, music and live entertainment. His recent India trip reflects a growing trend among global creators who are increasingly viewing the country as both a key market and a production base.

KSI arrived in India with his brother Deji Olatunji, also known as Comedy Shorts Gamer, accompanied by a full production crew. The objective was clear: maximise output in a short window. In a span of two days, the team filmed multiple collaborations spanning sport, cinema and digital comedy.

Among the shoots were a ‘Guess the Cricketer’ video featuring India men’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill, a ‘Guess the Bollywood Actor’ format with Aamir Khan and Vir Das, and two ‘Try Not To Laugh’ episodes involving Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhatt, Ajey Nagar aka CarryMinati, and Abhishek Malhan aka Fukra Insaan. The visit also resulted in a slate of short-form videos tailored for Reels and Shorts.

Industry analysts point out that such creator-led projects signal a shift in the global content ecosystem. India is no longer seen only as a consumption-heavy market but is increasingly emerging as a cost-efficient, high-capability production destination. For creators operating at KSI’s scale, the economics of production are becoming as decisive as audience reach.
