Intuit, a business software company, has entered a multi-year agreement worth more than $100 million with OpenAI, paving the way for its tax and financial platforms to operate natively within ChatGPT.
The partnership expands Intuit’s use of OpenAI’s frontier models and positions its suite of products, naming TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks and Mailchimp inside one of the world’s most widely used AI interfaces.
Through this integration, users will be able to carry out tasks such as estimating tax refunds, reviewing loan or credit options, improving cash flow or managing business finances directly in ChatGPT.
With customer permission, the apps can draw on users’ financial data to generate personalised responses or execute actions including sending invoice reminders or preparing marketing messages. The tools will also help individuals evaluate credit cards, personal loans and mortgages by aligning recommendations with spending behaviour and approval likelihood.
The agreement underscores the broader trend of finance and technology companies embedding large language models into consumer and business workflows. It follows OpenAI’s recent initiative to allow developers to build apps that run inside ChatGPT, an ecosystem that already includes platforms across travel, entertainment and productivity. Intuit’s integration, however, stands out due to its influence on real financial decisions, an area where accuracy and reliability remain critical.
Intuit said it uses multiple validation layers and draws heavily on its domain-specific datasets to reduce the risk of errors. The company continues to back the accuracy guarantees associated with its products, even as AI-driven recommendations become more deeply embedded in its ecosystem.
The partnership also extends Intuit’s internal use of ChatGPT Enterprise and accelerates adoption of OpenAI’s advanced models across its proprietary GenOS platform. According to the company, this expansion will enable more powerful AI agents while allowing Intuit to reach new audiences through ChatGPT’s distribution network. Shares of Intuit rose 3.6% in premarket trading following the announcement.
