Priyanka Chaturvedi, Member of Parliament- Rajya Sabha, has announced a new phase in her public journey, stepping beyond active politics to expand her work in academia and policy.
She has shared that she has begun teaching at O.P. Jindal Global University and will continue in the upcoming semester, while also taking on a leadership role at the Observer Research Foundation’s Women-Led Futures vertical. Alongside reflecting on her two-decade-long political career, she also hinted at a forthcoming book and reiterated her commitment to women’s representation and institutional reform in India.
“After dedicating over two decades of my life to politics, as I continue in the journey and keep fighting for political space becoming cleaner and clearer, I have also decided that ways to contribute for the nation isn’t only via political spaces but also by building on my own learnings and investing my time in the next generation of India’s builders.
This Spring semester, I began teaching at Jindal Global University. I’m grateful to have had a classroom full of curious young minds, eager to learn, as I embarked on this new journey alongside them. I’m delighted to be returning for the Fall semester as well. A special thank you to Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Raj Kumar for his unwavering support and encouragement,” she shared.
“As an alumna of the ORF Asian Forum on Global Governance (AFGG), where I had the privilege of learning about International Affairs and Policy from the best—Dr. Shashi Tharoor, who was the Dean of the program —I’m happy to announce that I would now be heading their Women Led Futures vertical at Observer Research Foundation (ORF), building on India’s G20 vision of Women-Led Development. Thank you, Samir Saran, for your trust and encouragement,” she mentioned further.
Oh also, a book is on the way and YouTuber toh main hoon hi . P.S. Since speculation seems to have become the norm these days ?, let me put the media interest in my life choices to rest. Can’t blame them they are used to seeing the most bizarre twists in politics these days. ?
I also remain deeply disappointed that The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, which would have ensured 33% representation for women, was not passed in the extended budget session in April. I continue to hope there is a rethink by all parties. Women deserve nothing less.
