With 53% share, BJP dominates political ad insertions across mediums

TAM AdEX Report: Insertions for political parties grew 14% on radio compared to the same period during previous general elections in 2014

TAM AdEX has released political ad analysis across medium for the period of January 1-March 16, 2019. BJP is dominating the list with 53% share. Congress takes the second spot with 14% share followed by Telugu Desam Party with 6% share.

According to the report, radio as a medium has seen a marked growth in political ad-insertions. Ad insertions of political parties grew 14% on radio, whereas it is 9% less in print and 83% less on TV till March 16, 2019 compared to same period during previous general elections in 2014.

Ad insertion trend in the first three weeks of 2019 has been almost similar for all mediums. For the first six weeks, radio was the least preferred medium for political ads. But the preference suddenly shot up in the 7th and 10th weeks of 2019. In fact, ad insertions were higher on radio during that period than any other mediums. 

BJP is ranked highest in the list of political parties spending on ads on all mediums.
