I didn’t think I would ever need to write this. Piyush was everything everyone has been saying about him since yesterday—warm, yet towering, visionary, yet grounded, sharp-shooting, yet gentle.
But what lingers for me is his smile, laughter and the mischievous look in his eyes. I can still picture him looking at me and saying “Hi, Prema!” in his booming voice. We always met like two old friends - an easy friendship with happy camaraderie and respect for each other’s craft.
We worked together on many occasions, and I was always taken by his ability to cut through everything and get to the insight quickly. But then, he didn’t stop there. It was inspiring to watch him connect the dots to build a beautiful story and thrilling to be along on the ride with him.
I am going to miss that energy, that friendship, and that smile. Rest well, dear Piyush.
