Saddened to hear about the passing of my dear friend and industry legend - Piyush Pandey.
A true giant of Indian advertising and a storyteller who gave Indian advertising its true voice and vernacular pride.
What I admired most about Piyush was his ability to build real relationships. His clients were never just clients; they were friends he deeply cared for.
I hadn’t spoken to him for over a year but would often get updates about his health from our common friend Rajesh Kejriwal.
I have such fond memories of our trips together to Cannes and Taiwan, his deep baritone voice, that ever-present cigarette, a large peg in hand, and an even larger heart.
He would light up with childlike excitement every time his agency won an award, like a kid who just got a lollipop.
Two of his closest friends, Anant Rangaswamy and Pradeep Guha, have already left us, and now Piyush joins them. His warmth, wit, and wisdom will be remembered for generations. Rest in peace, my friend.
