This week exchange4media took a look at the emerging trends in various sectors. Also, the I&B Ministry announced its decision to hike ad rates for the print media by 25%. There were also big pitches and account wins, as Marico invited a media pitch worth 500 crores, a year after incumbent agency Lodestar UM took charge of the account, while Dentsu Aegis Network bagged the 500 crore media business for Oppo, OnePlus.
Several interesting people movements also made the news this week, with Matt James being appointed as Global Brand President of Zenith, Binodan Sarma being appointed as VP, Dentsu Impact Digital. Delna Sethna also moved on from L&K Saatchi & Saatchi as Chief Creative Officer, while Priyanka Sehgal of Network18 and Network18 Digital CEO Manish Maheshwari also resigned. This week began on a sad note as the media and advertising world awoke to the news of legendary ad-man, Alyque Padamsee's passing at the age of 90. Tributes poured in for the advertising doyen, considered to be the 'Father of modern Indian advertising'.
The week also witnessed many people movements, including Raj Nayak stepping down from his role as COO at Viacom18, and Joy Chakraborthy, Forbes India CEO and President (Revenue), Network18 Media & Investments, who stepped down from his role on Monday.
One of the week's big appointments has been that of Abhijit Bose, who was named Country Head of WhatsApp India. Digital marketing agency Social Kinnect also announced the appointment of Bharat Suri as Vice President of Operations.
Also, the first edition of the exchange4media Media & Media Education Summit also began last week in New Delhi and witnessed leading experts discussing the challenges faced in the fields of Media and Media Education.
