Kedar Ravangave has stepped down as Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank, bringing an end to a nearly two-year stint with the private-sector lender.
Ravangave joined Kotak Mahindra Bank in July 2024 after spending close to a decade at Amazon India. At the bank, he led marketing for the Consumer and Commercial Banking businesses and worked closely with the respective teams to drive growth, brand strategy and customer engagement.
His next destination is not yet unknown as he has multiple offers, and it is understood that Kedar is considering many leadership and growth offers.
One of the most significant initiatives undertaken during his tenure was the relaunch of the Kotak brand through its new philosophy, “Hausla Hai Toh Ho Jayega.” Unveiled in 2025, the positioning sought to connect the bank with the ambitions and aspirations of a changing India. The digital-first, 360-degree campaign marked a broader effort to reposition Kotak as an institution supporting customers in their pursuit of personal and professional goals.
Ravangave also played an important role in strengthening the bank’s data-driven marketing capabilities. His focus included moving media planning from a channel-centric approach to an outcome-led model and integrating data, artificial intelligence and automation into the marketing process.
During his tenure, Kotak explored the development of a marketing operating system aimed at enabling greater personalisation, improving decision-making and connecting marketing investments more closely with measurable business outcomes. Ravangave frequently spoke about the growing role of AI-led hyper-personalisation in customer acquisition and engagement in financial services.
Before joining Kotak, Ravangave spent more than nine years at Amazon India, where he held several senior marketing roles. As Head of Brand and Category Marketing, he managed marketing mandates across Amazon India, Prime, Amazon Pay, Amazon Fashion, Amazon Fresh and other strategic business verticals.
At Amazon, he was closely associated with the launch and scaling of several high-impact initiatives. He helped build the marketing playbook for Amazon Prime in India and contributed to the platform crossing the milestone of 10 million paid members in the country. He also worked on establishing Amazon Fashion, introducing Amazon Pay to a highly competitive digital-payments market and evolving the go-to-market strategy for Amazon Fresh.
Earlier in his Amazon tenure, Ravangave led the launch of the Great Indian Festival. The annual sale subsequently emerged as one of the company’s most important consumer properties and a major contributor to its festive-season business.
Ravangave began his marketing career at Marico, where he worked across sales, brand activation and brand management roles. He managed brands including Parachute Coconut Oil and Parachute Advanced Jasmine. Before entering management, he worked with Wipro Technologies.
