The Delhi High Court has reportedly ruled that three executives of Reliance Entertainment are in contempt of court for not adhering to earlier judicial directions in a monetary dispute with T-Series. According to media reports, the court has observed that the company had deliberately ignored prior orders requiring it to deposit dues payable to Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited, the firm that owns and operates the T-Series brand.
The court stated that three representatives of Reliance Entertainment would face four weeks of simple imprisonment if the pending payments are not cleared within the next two weeks. The sentence has been kept on hold for a fortnight to allow the company time to settle the outstanding amount.
In the meantime, the officials have been directed to appear before the Joint Registrar on March 16, 2026, and furnish bail bonds of ₹1 lakh each along with a surety for the same amount.
The matter stems from a financing arrangement signed in 2021, under which T-Series extended a loan of ₹168 crore to Reliance Entertainment to help fund six film projects. As part of the deal, the music company was also entitled to 12.5% interest on the loan as well as a share in the films’ revenues.
