Sudhir Chaudhary, celebrating his 53rd birthday on 18 June, is known for his sharp anchoring style and deep dives into national affairs. The veteran journalist, who has been in the industry since the 1990s, remains one of India’s most recognisable news personalities.
Over the years, Chaudhary has built a reputation for blending hard-hitting news with clear, accessible narratives, whether during his long tenure at Zee News, Aaj Tak or in his current role at DD News. Chaudhary’s prime-time show ‘Decode with Sudhir Chaudhary’ has triggered a dramatic rise in viewership for DD News, reshaping how audiences engage with the public broadcaster. The show’s debut episode crossed 1 million views on YouTube within 24 hours, and in May alone, it accounted for nearly 50 percent of DD News’ total digital traffic.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Chaudhary is also a major digital voice, with 7.5 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), placing him among the most followed journalists in India. His journalism was formally recognised in 2013 with the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Hindi Broadcast.
