Govt may shorten online content blocking window to one hour

The Centre is exploring a further reduction of the recently mandated 2–3 hour content takedown window for social media platforms to as little as one hour, according to media reports, signalling a push for faster online content removal.
The move is reportedly at a preliminary stage, with no final decision taken, adding that the proposal may or may not be implemented.
