- Anthropic reported third-quarter revenue of $16.96 billion, a 47% increase from $11.56 billion in Q2, as it prepares for a significant IPO.
- The company's net loss narrowed to $23.29 billion from $66.3 billion in the previous quarter, largely due to accounting charges rather than operational performance.
- Anthropic experienced an operating loss of $567 million in Q3, a decline from an operating income of $974 million in Q2, attributed to rising computing costs.
- The company has over 11,900 customers generating at least $100,000 annually, and it disclosed $895.4 billion in computing commitments, raising concerns about financing and future compute capacity.
Anthropic reported $16.96 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 47% from $11.56 billion in Q2, according to an amended IPO filing, as the AI company prepares for what could become one of the largest public listings on record.
The company’s net loss narrowed to $23.29 billion from $66.3 billion in the second quarter. However, much of the net loss reflected accounting charges linked to the revaluation of convertible financing instruments rather than purely operating performance.

On an operating basis, Anthropic moved in the opposite direction. It posted an operating loss of $567 million in Q3, compared with operating income of $974 million in the previous quarter, as higher computing costs weighed on margins.
The quarter also showed that Anthropic’s growth rate is beginning to moderate. Revenue increased 47% sequentially in Q3, compared with 144% quarter-on-quarter growth in Q2. Even so, the company’s customer base continues to expand rapidly, with more than 11,900 customers generating at least $100,000 annually, up from about 1,500 at the end of 2025.
Anthropic also disclosed roughly $895.4 billion in computing and infrastructure commitments, including agreements with Amazon and Alphabet’s Google. Around $69.8 billion of those commitments are due within 12 months of September 30.

The company warned that some of the infrastructure supporting those commitments depends on financing arranged by partners and third parties, creating potential risks around the availability, timing and cost of future compute capacity.
Anthropic filed to go public last week and is currently being valued by some investors at around $1.5 trillion, below earlier expectations of roughly $2 trillion. Formal marketing for the IPO is expected to begin shortly.
For the wider AI industry, the filing sharpens the central question around frontier models: demand is growing at extraordinary speed, but so are the costs of supplying the computing power behind it. Anthropic’s public-market debut will test how much investors are willing to pay for that growth while the economics of operating frontier AI remain unsettled.
