Former HUL MD & CEO Rohit Jawa to join Marico as Independent Director
Jawa brings over 38 years of corporate and leadership experience across consumer businesses in India and international markets

- Marico has appointed Rohit Jawa, former Managing Director and CEO of Hindustan Unilever Limited, as an Additional Director in the capacity of Independent Director for a five-year term starting January 1, 2027, pending shareholder approval.
- Jawa brings over 38 years of experience in consumer businesses, with a strong background in emerging markets, brand building, and business transformation across India and international markets.
- Prior to his appointment at Marico, he held significant roles at Hindustan Unilever, including Whole-time Director and President of Unilever South Asia, and has experience in various leadership positions within Unilever globally.
- Currently, Jawa does not hold any directorship or committee memberships in other companies.
Marico has approved the appointment of former Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) Managing Director and CEO Rohit Jawa as an Additional Director in the capacity of Independent Director for a five-year term, beginning January 1, 2027.
The appointment, approved by Marico's Board of Directors at its meeting on November 2, is subject to shareholder approval.
Jawa has over 38 years of corporate and leadership experience in building, scaling, and transforming consumer businesses across India and international markets. He has extensive experience across India, South-East Asia, and North Asia, with expertise in emerging markets, international growth, brand building, business transformation, digitalisation, premiumisation and organisational leadership.
Jawa was appointed Whole-time Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited and President, Unilever South Asia in April 2023, and subsequently became Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Unilever Limited in June 2023. He served as President, Unilever South Asia and Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Unilever Limited until July 2025 and was also a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive.
Before returning to India, Jawa served as Chief of Transformation at Unilever in London. He had earlier led Unilever's North Asia business as Executive Vice President and Chairman of Unilever China, and served as Chairman and CEO of Unilever Philippines.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Jawa has held several industry and institutional roles. In India, he served as an Executive Member of the CII National Council and the FICCI Executive Council, and as an Executive Committee Member of Vikaasa – the UN SDG Accelerator in India. Earlier, he was the Founding Secretary of Food Industry Asia, Singapore, and Co-Chair of Grow Asia Philippines, alongside the Secretary of Agriculture of the Philippines, as part of a World Economic Forum initiative promoting inclusive business models in agriculture. He also served on the Consumer Goods Forum China Board, a global CEOled industry platform.
Currently, Jawa does not hold any directorship or membership/chairmanship of Board Committees in any other company.
