Publicis Groupe has completed its acquisition of global data collaboration platform LiveRamp for an enterprise value of $2.17 billion, strengthening its data and technology capabilities as it looks to expand its presence in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.
With the transaction completed, Publicis has unveiled what it describes as an AI growth engine, bringing together LiveRamp’s data collaboration technology and Epsilon’s identity capabilities. The integrated offering is designed to help brands enrich and activate their first-party data, personalise content, measure business outcomes and generate proprietary intelligence for AI agents.
The acquisition was initially announced in May 2026. Under the terms of the agreement, Publicis acquired LiveRamp in an all-cash transaction at $38.50 per share. The deal represented an equity value of approximately $2.55 billion, including acquired net cash of $379 million, while the total enterprise value stood at $2.167 billion. The purchase price represented a 29.8% premium to LiveRamp’s closing share price on May 15, 2026, the last trading day before the announcement.
The transaction marks another significant investment by Publicis in data, technology and AI, as global advertising groups increasingly look beyond traditional media and creative services to build integrated marketing and business transformation capabilities.
Building an integrated data and AI ecosystem
The newly launched AI growth engine combines LiveRamp’s data collaboration infrastructure with Epsilon’s identity capabilities, enabling brands to connect their first-party data with a wider network of publishers, technology partners and media platforms.
Through the integration, clients can enrich their customer data using LiveRamp’s RampID and Epsilon’s identity solutions, adding thousands of attributes and making billions of prospects addressable. The connected ecosystem spans 25,000 publisher domains and more than 500 technology and data partners across retail media networks, streaming platforms, walled gardens, large language model (LLM) integrations and Publicis' own media network.
The offering also incorporates LiveRamp’s data clean room and zero-copy capabilities. These technologies allow brands to collaborate with retailers, streaming platforms and other partners without having to move or duplicate underlying datasets. The resulting insights can be used to improve customer intelligence and develop proprietary AI models.
Publicis said the system would operate within clients' own technology environments, allowing them to retain ownership of their data, AI intellectual property and intelligence assets. The model is also designed to avoid dependence on a single technology platform or partner.
Expanding its agentic AI ambitions
The acquisition comes as Publicis positions itself for opportunities in agentic business transformation, where AI agents are increasingly being deployed to automate and support enterprise and marketing functions.
Arthur Sadoun, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe, said brands were facing a choice between surrendering data to large technology platforms for scale or investing significant time and money in building customised technology infrastructure.
The AI growth engine, he said, aims to combine the convenience of plug-and-play technology with client ownership and control over data and infrastructure.
The offering will also connect with Publicis Sapient's technology transformation capabilities, Marcel's agentic activation layer and the Groupe's creative, media, influencer and commerce businesses.
Scott Howe, CEO of LiveRamp, said joining Publicis would provide clients with a foundation to scale agentic marketing while maintaining control over their data.
Publicis said LiveRamp would retain its identity, culture and neutrality while benefiting from the Groupe's global scale and capabilities.
The deal follows a series of acquisitions through which Publicis has been expanding its presence across technology, data, influencer marketing, sports and culture, reflecting the growing convergence of advertising, technology and business transformation.
