Veteran journalist and author Dr Anil Singh joins Top Story as Editor

English daily Top Story has appointed Dr. Anil Singh as Editor. 

In his new role, Dr. Singh will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening Top Story’s coverage of national politics, Parliament, international affairs, public policy, governance, strategic affairs and major political and economic developments. He will also contribute to the newspaper’s editorial direction, special reports, interviews, political analysis and long-form commentary.

Dr. Singh brings more than three decades of experience across television journalism, print and digital media, academia and public-policy analysis. Over the course of his career, he has held senior editorial responsibilities with some of India’s most prominent television news organisations, including STAR News/ABP News, Aaj Tak/TV Today Network and News24.

He served as Executive Editor at STAR News/ABP News from 2004 to 2013, Executive Editor at Aaj Tak/TV Today Network from 2013 to 2015, and Executive Editor at News24 from 2015 to 2020. Earlier in his career, he worked with Aaj Tak, Zee News and Asia-Pacific Communication Associates. His journalistic career has combined newsroom leadership with extensive field reporting, Parliament coverage, election reporting, political interviews and analysis of major national and international developments.

Dr. Singh has been closely associated with the coverage of Parliament and Indian politics for more than two decades and has reported on numerous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. During his television career, he played a significant role in major political and election programmes, including Kaun Banega Mukhya Mantri at STAR News and Raj Tilak at Aaj Tak. His experience includes live political programming, special assignments and interactions with political leaders across party lines.

Alongside his responsibility at Top Story, Dr. Singh will continue to lead STAR Views, a US-based digital news network, as its Editor. This parallel editorial engagement is expected to add an international dimension to his work, connecting developments in India with wider global political, strategic and economic perspectives.
