Sun TV Network Board approves reappointment of Kalanithi Maran and Kaveri Kalanithi

Sun TV Network Limited's Board of Directors has approved the reappointment of Kalanithi Maran and Kaveri Kalanithi as whole-time directors for five-year terms, pending shareholder approval.
Kalanithi Maran will serve as Executive Chairman from April 20, 2027, to April 19, 2032, while Kaveri Kalanithi will continue as Executive Director during the same period.
The proposals for their reappointments will be presented to shareholders via postal ballot for final consent.
The board meeting also addressed the company's second quarter results for FY 2026-27 and discussed the interim dividend.

The Board of Directors of Sun TV Network Limited has approved the reappointment of Kalanithi Maran and Kaveri Kalanithi as whole-time directors of the company for a term of five years. However, these appointments will also require the approval of the company's shareholders.

According to a notice issued by the company on October 30, 2026, the board has approved the reappointment of Kalanithi Maran as a whole-time director for a period of five years, from April 20, 2027, to April 19, 2032. During this period, he will hold the responsibility of Executive Chairman of the company.

The same meeting also approved the reappointment of Kaveri Kalanithi for a five-year term. She will be appointed as a full-time director from April 20, 2027, to April 19, 2032. She will continue as Executive Director of the company.

Shareholder approval is also required

Sun TV Network has reported that the proposals for these two appointments will be presented to shareholders via postal ballot. This means that after the board's approval, final consent for these appointments will now be sought from shareholders.

The board meeting began at 2:30 pm and concluded at 4:30 pm on October 30, 2026. In the same meeting, the company also took decisions related to the second quarter results for FY 2026-27 and the interim dividend.
