Tata Sons Extends N Chandrasekaran's Term as Executive Chairman

Tata Sons board has approved a five-year term extension for N Chandrasekaran as Executive Chairman, despite him stepping down as Chairman of Tata Sons in August.

As per news reports, Chandrasekaran’s term has been extended in the wake of the listing of the group holding company. 

In October last year, Tata Trusts approved a third five-year executive term for Chandrasekaran as Chairman.

This was in departure with the Tata Group's retirement policy.

Chandrasekaran joined the Board of Tata Sons in October 2016 and was appointed as Chairman in January 2017.

His tenure was supposed to end in February 2027.
