N Chandrasekaran has stepped down as the Chairman of Tata Sons.
As per reports, he will complete his term and not seek re-appointment.
In October last year, Tata Trusts approved a third five-year executive term for Chandrasekaran as Chairman.
This was in departure with the Tata Group's retirement policy.
Chandrasekharan joined the Board of Tata Sons in October 2016 and was appointed as Chairman in January 2017.
His tenure will end in February 2027.
The company is scheduled to have its board meeting on August 18.
