According to media reports, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has resigned from his post before the scheduled end of his term. His resignation reportedly received board approval last week, but he is expected to remain with the company until a replacement is found.
Wilson, who was appointed CEO and Managing Director in 2022 on a five-year contract following the Tata Group’s acquisition of the airline, was due to complete his term in July 2027.
According to reports, Wilson is currently serving his notice period. It’s unclear if a successor has been appointed, though the board has been searching for a new CEO since last year.
The move comes as Air India deals with the aftermath of the Ahmedabad plane crash and works to improve its finances since privatisation.
