Heineken N.V. has announced that Dolf van den Brink, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board, will step down from his role on May 31, 2026. He shared this decision with the Supervisory Board after discussions, concluding that this is the right time to transition leadership.
Van den Brink has led the company for nearly six years, steering Heineken through challenging global economic and political conditions. With the EverGreen Strategy 2030 now in place, both he and the Supervisory Board agreed that the organisation is ready for its next phase under new leadership.
The Supervisory Board has accepted his decision and will begin the process of identifying his successor. To ensure continuity, van den Brink has agreed to stay connected with the company in an advisory role for eight months starting June 1, 2026, allowing Heineken to benefit from his deep industry knowledge and long experience with the company.
Reflecting on his decision, van den Brink said that after six years as CEO and more than 28 years with Heineken, this is the right moment to pass on responsibilities. He added that the company has undergone major transformation and is now well positioned to move forward with its long-term strategy. He confirmed that he will remain focused on executing the current strategy and supporting a smooth leadership transition.
Peter Wennink, Chairman of Heineken’s Supervisory Board, thanked van den Brink for his leadership and dedication, especially during a period of significant change. He noted that van den Brink successfully delivered on the EverGreen 2025 plan and helped shape the EverGreen 2030 strategy. Wennink added that as the focus now shifts to strong execution and future growth, the Supervisory Board believes this is the right time to begin the succession process and secure long-term leadership for the company.
