Vodafone Idea names Gopika Pant to board for five-year term

Vodafone Idea has inducted legal expert Gopika Pant onto its board as an Additional Director and Independent Woman Director for a five-year tenure beginning September 17, 2026. The board cleared her appointment on September 14, which now requires shareholder approval.
Pant, who has over four decades of experience in the legal field, founded Indian Law Partners. She is qualified to practise in India and is also admitted to the New York Bar. Her areas of expertise include corporate and commercial law, cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.
The telecom company is also seeking shareholders’ nod for the appointment of Anil Berera as an Independent Director. Berera joined the board for a five-year term with effect from August 31, 2026.
Vodafone Idea has initiated a postal ballot to secure shareholder approval for both appointments.
