It’s been a week of big shifts in the advertising, marketing, and media world. Senior names have taken charge of new roles across global networks, legacy FMCG giants, and international sport bodies. No fluff, just facts, here’s a quick wrap of who’s moving where, and what it means for the companies they now lead.

 

McCann Worldgroup creates new global role, appoints Ida Rezvani

In a move to strengthen client engagement and accelerate innovation, McCann Worldgroup has named Ida Rezvani as President, Global Chief Client Officer. This newly created role will see Rezvani report directly to Daryl Lee, Global CEO, McCann & McCann Worldgroup, as she scales new capabilities across the network’s global portfolio. With over 20 years of client leadership experience at Publicis and Dentsu, Rezvani will focus on expanding offerings including McCann Content Studios and McCann Truth Central.

Priya Nair to take over as CEO & MD of HUL

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced Priya Nair as its next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. Currently President, Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, Nair will also join the HUL Board, subject to approvals, and remain a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive. Her journey at HUL includes pivotal leadership roles such as Executive Director, Home Care (2014-2020) and Executive Director, Beauty & Personal Care (2020-2022), before rising to global leadership.


WPP names Cindy Rose as Global CEO

Cindy Rose will take over as Chief Executive Officer of WPP from Mark Read, effective September 1, 2025. Read will continue to support the transition until the year’s end. Rose brings a breadth of experience from her leadership roles at Microsoft, including her current role as Chief Operating Officer, Global Enterprise. Her career spans stints at Vodafone, Virgin Media, and The Walt Disney Company, with a long-standing association with WPP as a Non-Executive Director since 2013.


BMW Group India appoints Hardeep Singh Brar as President and CEO

BMW Group India has announced the appointment of Hardeep Singh Brar being appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer effective 1 September 2025. Hardeep Singh Brar succeeds Vikram Pawah who is taking charge as Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.

Brar brings more than thirty years of rich experience in Indian automotive industry, having held numerous senior management positions. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India.

Brar’s diverse experience included leading core functions of sales, marketing, customer experience, network development and corporate strategy across several brands including Maruti-Suzuki, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, General Motors, Nissan Motor and Great Wall Motor Company. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program.

Sanjog Gupta takes charge as CEO of the International Cricket Council

On July 7, 2025, Sanjog Gupta was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the ICC, becoming the seventh person to hold this position. Gupta steps into the role with over two decades of experience in sports and media transformation. Most recently, he was the CEO, Sports & Live Experiences at JioStar, leading the joint venture’s multi-platform sports strategy. His journey began at Star India in 2009, working across TV and radio on notable properties such as Openish Night, Academy Awards Specials, and a BBC radio drama series.

These high-powered transitions mark a pivotal moment in the industry, signaling sharper strategic intent, evolving global mandates, and a continued focus on client value, content, and innovation.
