Pam Kaur has announced plans to step down as Group Chief Financial Officer of HSBC in 2027, following an almost four-decade career in global banking.
Kaur shared the development on LinkedIn, describing the decision as a personal one after more than 13 years with HSBC. She said 2027 felt like the right time to pursue new leadership opportunities and take on new challenges.
Kaur was appointed Group CFO of HSBC on January 1, 2025. Prior to this, she served as Group Chief Risk Officer from January 2020 and took on responsibility for Compliance in June 2021. She held the combined role of Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer until December 2024.
She joined HSBC in April 2013 as Group Head of Internal Audit. Before HSBC, Kaur held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Lloyds TSB and Citigroup International.
Following her departure as Group CFO, Kaur will continue as an adviser to HSBC Group CEO Georges Elhedery. She will also continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director on the HBAP Board.
