#e4mBreaking:  Ajit Mohan Resigns as Snap's Chief Business Officer After Four Years

Ajit Mohan has announced his decision to step down as Chief Business Officer of Snap after four years with the company. During his tenure, he worked on rebuilding Snap’s advertising business with a stronger focus on performance and direct-response advertising.

Mohan shared the news through a LinkedIn post, saying that personal reasons and his decision to return to Singapore, where his family lives, were behind his departure.

After four fulfilling years at Snap, Mohan said he had decided to move on from his role as Chief Business Officer.

Looking back at his time with the company, Mohan said his key focus was to strengthen Snap’s advertising business and help advertisers achieve measurable results.

He said the company had worked to improve its advertising platform, make performance marketing a key part of the business and show advertisers that Snap could deliver meaningful outcomes while reaching a large global audience.

Mohan added that the progress made by Snap’s advertising business over the past few years had been significant.

Explaining his decision to leave, Mohan said managing a role away from his family had become increasingly demanding due to the amount of travel involved.

He said his family continued to stay in Singapore while he spent the last two years frequently travelling between New York, Los Angeles and Singapore, along with trips to London, Dubai and Bengaluru.

Mohan said he was now looking forward to returning home and spending more time with his family.

Despite stepping down from his executive position, Mohan said he remained confident about Snap’s future and its leadership team. He said the company continued to focus on human connection and authenticity while preparing for the future of technology.

He added that he would continue to support Snap as a shareholder and follower of the company.

Mohan also announced that Ronan Harris will take charge as Snap’s Chief Commercial Officer and lead the business going forward.

Mohan joined Snap in 2022 as President, APAC, before moving into a wider global leadership role. Before joining Snap, he was Vice President and Managing Director of Meta India, where he headed the company’s India operations. He has also held senior positions at Star India and previously worked with McKinsey & Company.

Mohan has not announced his next corporate move and indicated that he plans to take some time before deciding on his next step.

He said he may finally pursue some of his long-standing personal interests, including writing a book, making films and spending more time understanding artificial intelligence.

For now, Mohan said he plans to take a break and spend some much-needed time relaxing with his family.
