Radio stations have set a trend of involving their audiences with various events aimed at building social responsibility. Radio City recently hosted a Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Chennai in association with the Chennai Traffic Police.
Sunil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Chennai City Traffic Police, and Lalitha Lakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), had joined with the RJs of Radio City to get their message across to the people who had gathered on the Elliot beach for the event.
Sharing his feedback on the activity, Kumar said, "It was overwhelming to see the sea of citizens thronging the beach in response to Radio City's call. We were quite taken aback with the impact that an FM station can create for listeners by taking up such a cause. Thanks to Radio City, not only did the patrons enjoy the fun-filled contests and activities with Radio City RJs, but also it was an interesting way to impart knowledge and awareness about traffic regulation norms. This is something that we are constantly attempting to promote."
The two-hour long activity included a lot of fun games and contests and it also invited listeners to share their ideas of regulating traffic through SMS.
Commenting on the endeavour, Rana Barua, National Head - Programming and Marketing, Radio City, said, "Radio City is very much part and parcel of the lives of our listeners in Chennai. As a radio station that lives each day of the listener's life, we know that even small and simple things such as awareness of traffic norms can make a difference to thousands commuting on Chennai's streets every day. Our association with Chennai City Traffic Police was an endeavour to get this message across and help the Chennai Traffic Police ensure safe roads."For more updates, subscribe to exchange4media's WhatsApp Channel- https://bit.ly/2QUdLCK
