AirCheck launches in Indore, enters first category B market in India
Radio Computing Services (RCS) India has announced the launch of AirCheck, its radio monitoring services for commercial FM stations, in Indore. The Indore launch marks its 14th city and first B category market in India.
Radio Computing Services (RCS) India, a provider of broadcast and Webcast software has announced the launch of AirCheck, a subsidiary of US-based RCS Inc., for commercial FM stations in Indore. With the Indore launch AirCheck marks its completion of 14th city launch and the first B category market in India.
Nilesh Kolapkar, Assistant Manager-Online Services, RCS India, and the man responsible for marketing AirCheck and customer relations at RCS, said, “We knew already that there was interest in the industry to have monitoring data for the stations in Indore. At the same time, this is also a testing ground for us to see whether such services can be sustained outside the major media markets that are categorized as A+ or A.”
Currently, Indore has around four FM stations – Radio Mirchi, Big FM, My FM and S-FM – which are all part of the monitoring data and reports that AirCheck India provides via its online portal to the subscribers. With the availability of the data from the Indore stations, www.aircheckindia.com now offers data from 14 media markets throughout India, comprising a total number of 75 radio stations.
Aside from its traditional subscribers from within the radio industry itself, AirCheck media monitoring services in India have recently found particular interest from record labels, advertising agencies, news media and even telecoms.
Nisha Narayanan, Project Head, SFM, said, “Any such move by AirCheck is welcome, in fact, it is great that AirCheck is now in Indore and is a merit for the radio industry as a whole. Small markets are highly revenue generating and as the market is growing means for return we are hopeful that AirCheck will launch further in other smaller markets in India.”
