Yousra Zaki takes over as Editorial Director of Time Out GCC

Zaki moves into the role after serving as Group Food Editor, overseeing food and restaurant coverage across Time Out’s GCC titles

Yousra Zaki has been promoted to Editorial Director of Time Out GCC, as announced in a LinkedIn post.
She previously served as Group Food Editor, overseeing food and restaurant coverage for Time Out in multiple GCC cities.
Zaki joined ITP Media Group in October 2021, initially as Deputy Editor and later as Editor for Caterer Middle East and Hotelier Middle East.
Her career includes over five years at Gulf News and roles at communications agency Edelman DABO, along with editorial internships in Canada and Dubai; she holds a degree in Communication and Media Studies from York University.

Zaki most recently served as Group Food Editor, leading food and restaurant coverage across Time Out titles in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Jeddah. Her work included shaping editorial strategy for the annual Time Out Restaurant Awards and developing dining-focused features.

She joined ITP Media Group in October 2021 as Deputy Editor within its Hospitality Group and subsequently became Editor, working across Caterer Middle East and Hotelier Middle East. Her coverage spanned the regional hospitality industry, industry leaders and the food and beverage business.

Before joining ITP, Zaki spent more than five years at Gulf News, progressing from Deputy Editor to Features Editor and then Senior Features Editor.

Earlier in her career, she worked at communications agency Edelman DABO as Assistant Account Executive and Account Executive. She also completed editorial internships at Goddess Connections in Canada and ITP Media Group in Dubai.

Zaki holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from York University.
