The news of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming debut on Discovery’s iconic and hugely popular franchise Man vs Wild took the social media by storm. What started with a tweet by survivalist and adventurer Bear Grylls announcing the Discovery Exclusive ‘Man Vs Wild with Bear Grylls and PM Modi’ with the hashtag #PMModiOnDiscovery, soon turned into a Twitter storm.

Not selling whoppers to help McDonald's cause: Is it a king-sized win for Burger King?

Burger King won the internet and hearts of people with a hearty and spirited gesture. The fast food chain did not sell whoppers in Argentina for an entire day to divert burger craving customers to McDonald's instead, so that the latter could raise more money for children fighting cancer. McDonald's had pledged all sales for that day towards the fund, and Burger King did their bit to ensure the initiative was a success.

Sanjay Gupta joins Google as Country Manager & Vice President of Sales & Operations, India

Sanjay Gupta stepped down as Country Manager, Star & Disney India in November. Gupta joined Google as its new Country Manager and Vice President of Sales and Operations for India. He will contribute to Google’s ongoing efforts to expand the internet ecosystem in the country, driving Internet adoption among consumers and businesses and accelerating innovation. Gupta will take on the role early next year and will be based out of Mumbai working closely with the teams based in Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Vivo Row: Agency heads back Ogilvy, say it’s high time industry took stand to protect idea

How often do you see top honchos from the creative world echoing the same sentiment? Plagiarism and idea shopping by clients have always been spoken about in hush-hush tones within the industry, with very rare cases coming into the limelight. But with Ogilvy’s move to Bombay High Court over a Vivo advertisement and the court ruling that the commercial, made by Dentsu Impact, was in fact very similar to the proposal sent by Ogilvy to Vivo for the very same ad, the matter came out of agency boardrooms into the open.

Ad with errors: An expensive mistake for Uber India?

A print spot by ride-hailing company Uber India was trolled on Twitter for its erroneous copy. The ads with glaring errors were published on the front page of leading dailies like Times of India, Hindustan Times, etc in editions like Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, among others. The print ads were rolled out by the brand to put the spotlight on its inter-city service offerings.

Prasanth Kumar appointed new GroupM CEO as Sam Singh moves on to TikTok parent company

In May, Prasanth Kumar took over as the new CEO of GroupM. Sameer Singh (Sam Singh) quit from his position as CEO at GroupM to join ByteDance the company that owns TikTok. Singh will leave GroupM at the end of June. Kumar will take up the CEO role with immediate effect.
