Tata Sky tops DTH list in average Active Subscriber Base in April-June quarter
As per TRAI’s Performance Indicator Report, Tata Sky has attained a market share of 32% in terms of the average active subscriber base
Tata Sky has topped the list of Direct to Home (DTH) operators in the country in terms of average Active Subscriber Base, as per a Performance Indicator Report published on TRAI’s website.
The report thus puts Tata Sky ahead of Dish TV. The numbers are for the April-June 2019 quarter.
As per the report, Tata Sky has formed a market share of 32 per cent in terms of the average active subscriber base.
The Active Subscriber Base of Airtel Digital TV and Sun Direct have also increased by 23 per cent and 14 per cent respectively, according to the report.
DTH has attained average active subscriber base of around 54.36 million. This is in addition to the subscribers of the DD Free Dish (free DTH services of Doordarshan), the report says.
In the Pay TV channels segment, the report says that as per reporting done by broadcasters in pursuance of the Tariff Order there are 331 pay channels, including 233 SD pay TV channels and 98 HD Pay TV channels.
In the radio sector, the report says that the reported advertisement revenue during the quarter ending 30th June in respect of 365 private FM Radio stations is Rs 526.13 crore as against Rs 623.96 crore in respect of 355 private FM Radio stations for the previous quarter.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
