Today, we celebrate not just the birthday of Alok Jalan, but the extraordinary journey of a leader who has consistently redefined the frontiers of brand engagement and media innovation in India.
With over two decades of leadership in the media and advertising industry, Alok Jalan is the Managing Director of Laqshya Media Pvt. Ltd., a position he has held since January 2008. Under his stewardship, Laqshya has grown into one of India's most prominent and diversified media groups, with a significant presence across Out-of-Home (OOH) media, events and activations, and digital media. Today, the group boasts a network of 25 offices across India and a noteworthy footprint in the UAE.
Jalan's journey with Laqshya began in 1999, where he initially served as Director for eight years. His deep understanding of the media ecosystem and relentless drive played a key role in making Laqshya one of the fastest-growing OOH media companies in India. His strategic foresight enabled the company to adapt and expand during an era of rapid transformation in advertising formats and consumer engagement.
With a future-facing mindset and entrepreneurial zeal, Jalan has led Laqshya through several transformative chapters. From pioneering DOOH technologies to launching immersive brand experiences, he has always stayed ahead of the curve—marrying data, design, and disruption in equal measure. Whether it’s scaling OOH infrastructure across metros or engineering memorable brand activations, his work is a testament to strategic foresight and creative ambition.
A seasoned entrepreneur and a respected industry voice, Jalan is known not just for building businesses, but for building ecosystems. His commitment to transparency, measurement-led OOH, and responsible media practices has helped elevate the entire sector. He’s also been instrumental in mentoring the next generation of media professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, agility, and experimentation across teams.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School (OPM, 2017), Jalan also holds a diploma in Sales & Marketing Management from SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
