Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed that content creators, especially in the news sector, should be fairly compensated for their efforts. Vaishnaw emphasised that revenue generated from the significant efforts of conventional media teams should be distributed fairly.
On the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Vaishnaw pointed out that public policy must promote a fair sharing of revenue, particularly for traditional media whose content is extensively used by digital and Big Tech platforms.
Vaishnaw stated that the government is engaging with digital platforms, which have expressed interest in establishing a mechanism to fairly remunerate news creators.
